Friday, 12:00–1:30 PM, GWCC Room A305

Dr. Nasim Ashraf is Minister of State & Chairman National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) has been decorated with the coveted award of Sitara-e-Imtaiz. Dr. Nasim Ashraf has dedicated his life for humanitarian work and empowerment of people. In 1998 he set up relief camps in Kosovo and Albania for the victims of war.

The Jan L. Tucker Memorial Lecture:
Jan L. Tucker was a nationally and internationally prominent social studies scholar who promoted the idea of global education to meet the challenges of an increasingly interdependent and rapidly changing world. He served as president of NCSS and with the support of his Canadian and U.S. Colleagues founded

the International Assembly to embrace scholars from abroad. One of his greatest accomplishments was his participation in the radical education reform movement of Russian education at the end of the Cold War. He died unexpectedly at the age of 63. John J. Cogan and Michael Hartoonian, both of the University of Minnesota, and David Grossman, Dean of the Hong Kong Institute of Education, were instrumental in establishing the Jan L. Tucker Memorial Lecture.
